Fløyen is one of Bergen's most beloved natural attractions, a mountain that rises 320 meters above the city center. Visitors can ride the Fløibanen funicular to the top, where a large viewing platform reveals a stunning panorama of Bergen, its fjords, and surrounding islands. The mountain is crisscrossed with well-marked hiking trails suitable for all levels, leading through birch forests and past small lakes. At the summit, a popular restaurant and café serve Norwegian cuisine, and a playground and souvenir shop cater to families. In winter, the trails become cross-country skiing routes, and the funicular runs year-round.
