Vangsnes is a small, picturesque village on the shores of Sognefjord, known primarily for its ferry terminal connecting to other fjord towns. Its most distinctive landmark is the colossal statue of Fridtjof the Bold, a legendary Viking hero, which stands 12 meters tall overlooking the water. The statue was a gift from Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1913 and has become an iconic photo spot.
