Porta Macedonia is a triumphal arch erected in 2012 to celebrate 20 years of Macedonian independence. Standing at the entrance of the Macedonia Square, the arch is covered in intricate reliefs depicting scenes from Macedonian history, from ancient times to the modern era. Visitors can climb to the top for panoramic views of Skopje's main square and the Vardar River. The structure has become a symbol of national pride and a popular photo spot, though its recent construction sparks debate about historical representation.
