Agodi Gardens

Agodi Gardens is a 61-hectare site in Ibadan originally created in 1967 as the Agodi Zoological and Botanical Gardens. Its history is closely tied to the city’s 1980 Ogunpa flood disaster, which devastated the grounds and swept away most of the animals.

Created in 1967 as Agodi Zoological and Botanical Gardens, the site was devastated by the 1980 Ogunpa flood disaster, which swept away most of its animals. The Oyo State Government renovated the gardens in 2012 and reopened them in 2014.
