National Christian Centre

The National Christian Centre, also called the National Church of Nigeria, is a non-denominational Christian church in Abuja. The building presents a Postmodern interpretation of Neo-Gothic architecture, with pivoted arches and a broad nave leading toward a central altar.

A bit of history

Construction began around 1989 but stalled until 2004, when the Christian Association of Nigeria formed a committee to push for completion. The church was dedicated on 2 October 2005, coinciding with Nigeria's 45th independence anniversary. The dedication service was led by the Most Reverend Peter Akinola, the Anglican Primate of Nigeria.
