The Waitangi Treaty Monument is a tall stone obelisk erected in the 1880s to mark the site where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed. It stands on the lawn near the Treaty House and is surrounded by the flagstaff that flies the New Zealand, Union Jack, and Māori flags. The monument is a focal point for commemorations, especially on Waitangi Day (February 6). Visitors can walk around the monument, read the plaques, and enjoy panoramic views of the Bay of Islands from the grounds.
