St James’ Church, consecrated in 1878, is a charming wooden Anglican church nestled in the Kerikeri Basin. Its Gothic Revival style features a steep roof, pointed-arch windows, and a small bell tower. Inside, visitors can admire stained-glass windows depicting biblical scenes and local flora, as well as a carved wooden reredos. The churchyard contains graves of early missionaries and settlers, offering a quiet place for reflection. Surrounded by mature trees and lawns, it provides a serene contrast to the busier Stone Store and Kemp House nearby.
