Cooks Beach is a popular sandy beach on the eastern side of Mercury Bay, named after Captain James Cook. Its fine golden sand and gentle waves make it a favorite for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The beach is backed by native bush and offers views of the Mercury Islands. A short walk leads to the Cook's Memorial, commemorating his 1769 astronomical observation. The beach is family-friendly, with calm waters and ample space for sunbathing and picnicking.
