Edith Cavell Bridge is a graceful stone arch bridge built in 1919, spanning the rugged Shotover River Gorge. Named after a World War I nurse, the bridge is a scenic highlight on the road to Skippers Canyon. Visitors stop to photograph the river far below, framed by schist rock walls and mountain peaks. The bridge's elegant masonry and the surrounding wilderness make it a favorite spot for a quick, memorable break. It's also a gateway to walking tracks and historic gold-mining sites.
