The Wind Wand is a striking 48-meter tall kinetic sculpture designed by renowned artist Len Lye, located along New Plymouth's scenic Coastal Walkway. This slender, bright red carbon-fiber rod bends and sways with the wind, creating a mesmerizing dance against the sky. Visitors can walk right up to its base, feeling the scale and watching its gentle, fluid movements. At night, a glowing red sphere at its tip illuminates, making it a beacon along the coast. It's a must-see landmark that perfectly blends art with the natural elements.
