Kemp House, completed in 1822, is the oldest European building still standing in New Zealand. Built for the Church Missionary Society, it was home to the Kemp family for many years. The house is a simple two-storey timber structure with a verandah, furnished with period pieces that reflect early missionary life. Visitors can tour the interior, see the kitchen garden, and stroll the grounds that overlook the Kerikeri River. Its proximity to the Stone Store and St James’ Church makes it a highlight of the historic basin.
