Mount Victoria is a 87-metre volcanic cone on the Devonport peninsula, providing one of the best vantage points over Auckland's Waitematā Harbour and the city skyline. The summit is accessible via a short but steep walking trail through grassy slopes and native bush, passing historic gun emplacements from World War II. At the top, visitors are rewarded with 360-degree views that include Rangitoto Island and the Hauraki Gulf. It's a peaceful escape from the city, popular for picnics and sunset watching.

Don't miss

  • Hike to the summit for sweeping views of Auckland's harbour, skyline, and Rangitoto Island.
  • Explore the historic WWII gun emplacements and tunnels near the summit.
  • Enjoy a picnic on the grassy slopes while watching ferries cross the harbour.
