Rotterdam's Cube Houses, designed by architect Piet Blom in the 1980s, are a striking example of avant-garde residential architecture. These 38 tilted cube-shaped homes are perched on hexagonal pylons, each rotated 45 degrees and resting on a corner. The unusual geometry creates a forest of yellow and gray cubes that seem to defy gravity. One house is open to the public as a museum (the Kijk-Kubus), allowing visitors to experience the clever interior layout that maximizes space within the angled walls. The complex also includes a small pedestrian street and shops. A visit offers a fascinating glimpse into creative urban living and is a must for architecture enthusiasts.
