The Westerkerk, or Western Church, is a prominent Protestant church in the Jordaan district of Amsterdam. Built in the Dutch Renaissance style, its tower is the tallest in the city at 85 meters. The church is famous for its carillon, which plays regularly, and its connection to Anne Frank, who wrote about hearing its bells from her hiding place in the Anne Frank House next door. Inside, the church features a large organ, beautiful stained-glass windows, and the tomb of Rembrandt. The tower offers panoramic views of Amsterdam, though climbing it requires a guided tour. The Westerkerk remains an active parish and a popular tourist attraction.
