Oostkapelle is a charming seaside village on the coast of Walcheren, known for its expansive sandy beaches and rolling dunes. The beach stretches for kilometers, backed by the Dunes of Oostkapelle, a nature reserve with walking and cycling trails. The village itself has a quaint center with shops, cafes, and a historic church. Visitors come here for a classic Dutch beach day: swimming in the North Sea, sunbathing, or windsurfing. The dunes are a haven for hikers and birdwatchers, with marked paths through heathland and forests. A notable landmark is the 't Kasteel (the Castle), a 19th-century mansion now used as a conference center. The area is also part of the Oosterschelde National Park, offering rich biodiversity. Oostkapelle is less crowded than nearby Domburg, making it a peaceful retreat.
