Concertgebouw de Vereeniging is Nijmegen's premier cultural venue, a majestic neo-Renaissance building dating from 1915. The main hall, with its ornate plasterwork, crystal chandeliers, and excellent acoustics, seats over 1,400 people. The program ranges from symphony orchestras and chamber music to jazz, world music, and pop acts. There is also a smaller hall for intimate performances and conferences. Visitors can enjoy a pre-concert dinner at the on-site restaurant or a drink at the bar. The building itself is a landmark, with a striking façade and a grand staircase. Guided tours are available on select days, revealing backstage areas and the history of the venue.
