Oostkapelle is a tranquil coastal village on Walcheren, known for its expansive, unspoiled beach and dune landscape. The beach stretches for miles, backed by the Oranjezon nature reserve, a vast area of dunes, forest, and grassland. Visitors can swim, sunbathe, or walk along the shoreline, while the dunes offer excellent hiking and cycling trails with views of the North Sea and the Veerse Meer. A highlight is Kasteel Westhove, a 13th-century castle surrounded by a moat and parkland, now home to a museum and café. The village itself has a few shops and restaurants, but the main draw is the natural beauty. What makes Oostkapelle distinctive is its peaceful atmosphere, it's less commercial than Zoutelande, making it ideal for families and nature lovers. The nearby Domburgse Golfclub offers golfing, and the Oostkapelle marina provides access to the Veerse Meer.
