Saint John Church (Sint-Janskerk) is a striking Gothic church located next to the Basilica of Saint Servatius on Vrijthof square. Its most notable feature is the 75-meter-high tower, painted in a distinctive red and white, which dominates the Maastricht skyline. Originally a parish church, it is now used for Protestant services and cultural events, including concerts. Visitors can climb the tower for panoramic views of the city. Inside, the church is relatively simple compared to its neighbor, with beautiful stained-glass windows and a peaceful atmosphere. The church is often open to visitors, offering a chance to appreciate Gothic architecture and enjoy occasional exhibitions.
