Molen Hoogland is a traditional smock windmill located in the village of Goutum, just south of Leeuwarden. Built in 1855, this grain mill is still operational, grinding wheat and rye into flour using wind power. Visitors can tour the mill on select days, climbing up to see the massive wooden gears and sails in motion. The surrounding landscape is quintessentially Dutch, with green pastures and canals. The mill's whitewashed body and thatched roof make it a picturesque photo stop. It's a peaceful spot to experience the Netherlands' milling heritage away from the city crowds.
