Vrouwenpolder is a tranquil seaside village that epitomizes the relaxed Dutch coastal lifestyle. Its main draw is the expansive, fine-sand beach that stretches for kilometers, backed by a line of dunes and a modern promenade with cafes and restaurants. The water is clean and shallow, making it safe for families with children. Just behind the dunes lies the Oranjezon nature reserve, a 350-hectare area of forest, grassland, and dune slacks that is home to deer, foxes, and a variety of bird species. Walking and cycling trails crisscross the reserve, offering a peaceful contrast to the beach. The village itself is small, with a few shops and a historic church, but most visitors come for the seaside. The beach is equipped with lifeguards in summer, and facilities include beach pavilions where you can rent sunbeds or enjoy a meal. Vrouwenpolder is also a starting point for longer coastal walks along the North Sea beach, heading east toward Domburg or west toward Oostkapelle.
