John Frost Bridge is one of the most significant World War II landmarks in the Netherlands. Originally called the Rhine Bridge, it was renamed in honor of Lieutenant Colonel John Frost, who led British paratroopers in a desperate attempt to capture and hold the bridge during Operation Market Garden in 1944. Today, the bridge is a powerful memorial and a must-see for history enthusiasts. Walking across it, you can imagine the fierce fighting that took place here, while plaques and a nearby information center provide context. The bridge also offers excellent views of the Rhine River and the city. It's a place for quiet reflection and a reminder of the cost of war.
