The Royal Palace of Amsterdam, located on Dam Square, is one of the Netherlands' three official palaces used by the royal family for state visits and receptions. Built in the 17th century as the city's town hall, it was later converted into a royal palace. The building's classical architecture, designed by Jacob van Campen, features a grand facade and a marble interior. Visitors can explore the opulent Citizen's Hall, the council chambers, and the gallery of paintings by Dutch masters. The palace also hosts temporary exhibitions. The experience offers a glimpse into Dutch history and royal life. The palace is centrally located, making it easy to combine with other attractions like the National Monument and the Nieuwe Kerk.
