Sarangkot is a hill station perched at an elevation of about 1,600 meters, just a short drive from Pokhara. It is renowned as one of the best vantage points in Nepal for sunrise views, offering a sweeping panorama of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs, including the iconic fishtail-shaped Machhapuchhre. Visitors typically arrive before dawn to watch the first light paint the snow-capped peaks in golden hues. The hill also features a small settlement, paragliding launch sites, and a few cafes where travelers can warm up with tea while soaking in the scenery.

Don't miss

  • Watch the sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges from the main viewpoint.
  • Try paragliding from Sarangkot's launch sites for a bird's-eye view of Pokhara valley.
  • Hike the short trail from the parking area to the summit for 360-degree views.
