Tengboche is a small, sacred settlement perched on a ridge in the Khumbu region, best known for its iconic Tengboche Monastery, the largest gompa in the area. Trekkers often pause here to absorb the breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Everest, and other peaks, and to witness the monks' daily prayers. The monastery, rebuilt after earthquakes, remains a vibrant center of Buddhist culture, with colorful prayer flags and a peaceful atmosphere. Visitors can explore the monastery grounds, attend a puja ceremony, and enjoy the surrounding rhododendron forests.
