Mandalay Hill is a sacred site that rises 240 meters above the city, providing the best vantage point for panoramic views of Mandalay, the Ayeyarwady River, and the distant Shan hills. The hill is dotted with pagodas, monasteries, and Buddha images, including the famous Sutaungpyei Pagoda at the summit. Visitors can climb the covered stairways, which have four entrances, or take a vehicle to the top. The sunset view from the hill is particularly popular, casting a golden glow over the city and its ancient monuments.
Don't miss

- Walk the covered stairways lined with shops and small shrines, passing numerous Buddha statues
- Visit the Kyauktawgyi Buddha Temple at the base of the hill, housing a large marble Buddha
