Kanbawzathadi Palace is a reconstruction of the 16th-century royal palace of King Bayinnaung, who ruled the Hanthawaddy Kingdom from Bago. The original palace was destroyed by fire, but the current structure, built in the 1990s, faithfully recreates its grandeur using traditional materials and techniques. Visitors can explore the throne hall, royal chambers, and a museum displaying artifacts and models. The palace complex is set within spacious grounds, offering a glimpse into the opulence of Myanmar's pre-colonial monarchy.
