Borj Belkari is a well-preserved fortress built in the 17th century by Sultan Moulay Ismail. Perched on a hill, it served as a defensive stronghold and now provides one of the best vantage points over Meknes. Visitors can climb the ramparts for stunning 360-degree views of the imperial city, the medina, and the distant Atlas Mountains. Inside, a small museum displays artifacts from the Alaouite dynasty. The site is quieter than other attractions, making it ideal for a peaceful escape.

Don't miss

  • Panoramic views of Meknes's medina, royal stables, and the Zerhoun mountains.
  • Explore the fortress's thick walls, towers, and original cannons.
  • Visit the small on-site museum showcasing Alaouite-era weapons and ceramics.
