The Grand Mosque of Chefchaouen, built in the 15th century, is a central landmark in the medina's main square, Plaza Uta el-Hammam. Its most notable feature is the unique octagonal minaret, which sets it apart from typical square minarets in Morocco. Non-Muslims cannot enter, but the mosque's exterior and serene courtyard are visible from the plaza. The whitewashed walls and green-tiled roof blend harmoniously with the surrounding blue city. It remains an active place of worship, adding to the authentic atmosphere of the square.
