Zeleni Vir, meaning 'Green Spring,' is a deep glacial lake in Durmitor National Park, renowned for its intense green hue. The lake is fed by underground springs and surrounded by dense beech and fir forests that climb the steep slopes. At 15 meters deep, it's one of the deeper lakes in the park, and its color shifts with the light, from jade to turquoise. A short trail leads down to the water's edge, where visitors can swim in the chilly, clear water during summer. The secluded setting makes it a peaceful spot for nature lovers.
Don't miss
- Swim in the refreshing, clear waters of the lake during warm summer months.
- Hike the short but steep trail down to the lake, enjoying the forest canopy.
- Observe the changing shades of green as sunlight filters through the trees.
