Vražje Lake, or Devil's Lake, is a small glacial lake in Durmitor National Park near Žabljak. Its name derives from local legends of dark forces, but visitors find a tranquil, emerald-green body of water surrounded by rugged karst peaks. The lake sits at an altitude of about 1,500 meters, accessible via a short, marked trail from the main road. The setting is stark and wild, with sparse vegetation reflecting the harsh alpine environment. Hikers often combine a visit with nearby trails, soaking in the panoramic views of the Durmitor massif.
Don't miss
- Walk the easy trail from the road to the lake's shore, taking in the stark alpine scenery.
