Our Lady of the Rocks is a unique man-made island in the Bay of Kotor, constructed over centuries by local seamen who deposited rocks and sunken ships to create land. The centerpiece is the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks, built in the 17th century, which houses a small museum filled with ex-votos, paintings, and a famous icon of the Virgin. Visitors reach the island by boat from Perast and can explore the church, climb the bell tower for views, and learn about the annual fašinada festival where locals add more stones to the islet.
Don't miss
- Admire the intricate icon of Our Lady of the Rocks inside the church.
- Climb the bell tower for a stunning view of Perast and the bay.
- Browse the museum's collection of maritime ex-votos and paintings.
