Our Lady of the Rocks is a man-made island in the Bay of Kotor, created by local seamen who deposited rocks around a reef where an icon of the Virgin Mary was found. The island features a charming church, also called Our Lady of the Rocks, built in the 17th century. Inside, visitors can see a rich collection of Baroque art, including paintings by Tripo Kokolja, and a museum displaying votive gifts from sailors. The island is accessible only by boat, typically from Perast, and offers a serene escape with stunning views of the bay and surrounding mountains. The annual Fašinada festival, where locals throw rocks into the sea to expand the island, adds to its cultural significance.
