The Mausoleum of Njegoš is a striking stone structure built on Jezerski Vrh, the highest peak of Lovćen. It houses the remains of Petar II Petrović-Njegoš, a revered Montenegrin prince-bishop and poet. Visitors climb 461 steps through a tunnel carved into the mountain to reach the mausoleum, where a massive granite statue of Njegoš stands. Inside, the tomb is surrounded by marble and mosaics, with a skylight illuminating the space. The site offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Kotor and the surrounding mountains, making it both a pilgrimage and a scenic destination.
