The Zaisan Memorial is a towering circular monument built in 1979 to commemorate Soviet and Mongolian soldiers who died in World War II. Perched on a hill south of Ulaanbaatar, it features a large mosaic depicting scenes of friendship between the two nations. Visitors climb a long staircase to reach the memorial, rewarded with sweeping views of the city and the surrounding Tuul River valley. The site is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, especially at sunset.
