The Winter Palace of the Bogd Khan is a museum complex that was the winter home of Mongolia's eighth Jebtsundamba Khutuktu, the Bogd Khan (1869–1924). Set in a tranquil compound, the palace consists of several traditional Mongolian temples and a European-style building. Inside, visitors can see the Bogd Khan's personal belongings, including his throne, jewelry, clothing, and a collection of stuffed animals he hunted. The complex also houses Buddhist art, thangkas, and a famous ger (yurt) made from leopard skins. It provides a fascinating window into the life of Mongolia's last theocratic ruler.

Don't miss
