Sükhbaatar Square is the heart of Ulaanbaatar, a vast open space where locals gather for celebrations and protests. At its center stands an equestrian statue of Damdin Sükhbaatar, the leader of Mongolia's 1921 revolution. The square is ringed by imposing structures including the State Palace (Parliament), the National Museum of Mongolia, and the Ulaanbaatar City Hall. Visitors can watch the changing of the guard ceremony, admire Soviet-era architecture, and see the monument to Genghis Khan at the north end. It's a starting point for exploring the city's main attractions.
