Perched atop a rocky promontory overlooking the Mediterranean, the Prince's Palace of Monaco has been the official residence of the Grimaldi family since the 13th century. Today, it serves as the home of the reigning Sovereign Prince, but several state apartments are open to the public during certain months. Visitors can explore lavishly decorated rooms such as the Throne Room, the Palatine Chapel, and the Gallery of Mirrors, all adorned with frescoes, tapestries, and period furniture. The palace also offers panoramic views of the port and the city below. A highlight is the daily changing of the guard ceremony at 11:55 am, performed by the Carabiniers du Prince in full uniform. The palace's architecture blends medieval fortifications with Renaissance and neoclassical additions, reflecting its long history. Guided tours provide insight into the life of the princely family and the political significance of the palace.
