Mount Nanlaud, rising to 782 meters (2,566 feet), is the tallest mountain on Pohnpei and a premier destination for adventurous hikers. The trail winds through dense tropical rainforest, crossing streams and climbing steep slopes to the summit. Along the way, hikers encounter endemic flora and birdlife, including the Pohnpei kingfisher. At the top, a breathtaking 360-degree view rewards the effort: the lush island interior, fringing reef, and endless Pacific Ocean.
