The Catholic Belltower in Kolonia is a stone tower built during the German colonial period (1899–1914), part of the island's early Catholic mission. Visitors see a sturdy, square tower with a bell still in place, set in a small garden near the current cathedral. It represents the introduction of Christianity to Pohnpei and the German administration's support for missions. The tower is well-maintained and offers a quiet place for contemplation. It's a popular photo spot and a reminder of the island's religious heritage.

Don't miss

  • The original bell, still hanging in the tower
  • The German-era stonework, showing European construction techniques
  • The adjacent garden with tropical flowers, perfect for photos
