Valladolid is a charming colonial city in Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, renowned for its well-preserved architecture, vibrant painted facades, and rich cultural heritage. Founded in 1543, it served as an important colonial and later revolutionary hub. Today, visitors can stroll through the central plaza, visit the striking San Servacio Cathedral, and explore the Convent of San Bernardino de Siena. The city is also a gateway to nearby Mayan archaeological sites like Ek Balam and Chichén Itzá, as well as numerous cenotes, including the famous Cenote Zací right in town. Valladolid offers a more relaxed, authentic alternative to Mérida or Cancún.
