Los Arcos is a stunning cluster of granite rock formations jutting out of the turquoise waters of Banderas Bay, just south of Puerto Vallarta. These natural arches and caves create a unique underwater ecosystem teeming with colorful fish, sea turtles, and occasional rays. Visitors typically arrive by boat tour or water taxi to snorkel, scuba dive, or simply admire the scenery from the water. The clear, calm waters make it an ideal spot for both beginners and experienced snorkelers, with visibility often exceeding 30 feet. Above water, the dramatic silhouettes against the sunset are a photographer's dream.

Don't miss

  • Snorkel among schools of tropical fish and explore the underwater caves and tunnels.
  • Spot sea turtles, manta rays, and seasonal humpback whales from December to March.
  • Kayak or paddleboard around the formations for a peaceful, up-close perspective.
