The Church of San Francisco Acatepec is a standout example of Mexican Baroque, its entire frontage sheathed in hand-painted Talavera tiles from Puebla. The tiles form intricate geometric designs, floral motifs, and images of saints, shimmering in the sunlight. Inside, the altar and side chapels continue the tile work, though more subdued. The church is small but visually stunning, often called the 'jewel of Cholula.' It is still used for services, so visitors should be respectful.
