Tamarind Falls, also known as Tamarin Falls, is a stunning sequence of seven cascades nestled in the lush hills of southwestern Mauritius. The hike to the falls takes you through sugarcane fields and dense forest, offering glimpses of the island's interior. Each waterfall has its own character, with some plunging into deep, clear pools ideal for a refreshing dip. The main fall, at about 30 meters, is the most dramatic. This is a popular spot for guided canyoning and abseiling adventures, but independent hikers can also explore the trails. The experience is both invigorating and serene, surrounded by tropical vegetation and the sound of rushing water.

Don't miss

  • Swim in the natural pool at the base of the main waterfall
  • Hike through sugarcane fields and forest to reach the cascades
  • Spot endemic birds and lush tropical flora along the trail
