The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, often called the Pamplemousses Garden, is a historic botanical garden near Port Louis. Established in the 18th century, it spans 37 hectares and is renowned for its collection of exotic plants, including the iconic giant water lilies (Victoria amazonica) with leaves up to 2 meters wide. Visitors can also see spice trees, palm species from around the world, and the famous 'Talipot' palm that flowers once every 60 years. The garden provides a peaceful retreat with shaded pathways and ponds.
