Fungus Rock is a striking limestone islet in Dwejra Bay, Gozo, shaped like a giant mushroom. Its name comes from a parasitic fungus that grew there, once highly valued by the Knights of St. John for its supposed medicinal properties. The islet is now a nature reserve, off-limits to visitors to protect its ecosystem. While you cannot land on it, the rock is easily viewed from the nearby shoreline, offering a unique photo opportunity and a glimpse into Gozo's natural and historical heritage.
