The Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum is a subterranean structure carved into limestone, used as a temple and necropolis from around 4000 BC. Visitors descend into a series of chambers, halls, and passageways spread over three levels, decorated with red ochre paintings and intricate carvings. The site's acoustic properties are remarkable, and the 'Sleeping Lady' figurine found here is a famous artifact. Access is strictly limited to preserve the delicate environment, making advance booking essential.
