Merkanti Reef is an artificial reef created by sinking a decommissioned ship, located just off the coast of St Julian's. It has become a popular scuba diving site, attracting divers with its rich marine biodiversity, including colorful fish, octopuses, and crustaceans. The reef structure provides an interesting underwater landscape for exploration, suitable for intermediate and advanced divers. Visibility is generally good, and the site offers a unique opportunity to see marine life up close in a sheltered bay.
