The Tritons' Fountain is a striking modern sculpture created by Maltese artist Vincent Apap in 1959, situated at the City Gate entrance to Valletta. It depicts three bronze Tritons (mythological sea gods) holding up a large basin, with water cascading around them. The fountain is set in a circular traffic island, surrounded by the city's main bus terminus and the new Parliament building. It serves as a popular meeting point for locals and tourists, and its dramatic silhouette against the city walls makes it a favorite subject for photographs. The fountain underwent restoration in 2018, ensuring its continued prominence.
