Mellieħa Bay, also known as Għadira Bay, is Malta's biggest sandy beach, stretching along a sheltered cove. Its shallow, calm waters make it ideal for families with young children. The beach is lined with sunbeds and umbrellas, and offers a range of water sports including windsurfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Lifeguards are on duty during summer, and nearby cafés and restaurants provide refreshments. The beach can get crowded in peak season, but its size ensures plenty of space.

Don't miss

  • Try windsurfing or kayaking at the water sports center
  • Relax on the soft golden sand with views of St. Paul's Islands
  • Visit the nearby nature reserve for birdwatching
