The Collegiate Church of Saint Lawrence in Vittoriosa is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture, built by the Knights of St. John as their first conventual church. Its lavish interior boasts intricate marble inlays, gilded woodwork, and a magnificent altarpiece depicting the martyrdom of Saint Lawrence by Mattia Preti, a leading Baroque painter.
